Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

26 | Notizie | Tour Auto 2005 A tour through France like no other Arnaud Blanfuney, Jean-Bernard Heros, Henry T. Kistler, Pierre Goossens, Arnaud Blanfuney Helmut Schnug It is difficult to understand the size of the Tour Auto, not only in terms of the large number of older sports cars taking part, but also in terms of sheer length, both in distance and time. Beginning on Monday, April 25 in Paris, the entire entourage takes a week to traverse the countryside of France before ending up in Biarritz on Saturday, April 30. |
28 | Notizie | Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este Villa d'Este celebrates an anniversary Marcel Massini Marcel Massini The 2005 edition of the time-honored and celebrated Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, at the luxurious hotel of the same name on the shores of the breathtaking Lake Como in Italy, took place from April 22 to 24. The event dates to pre-war days, but revived efforts over the past six years have made the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este one of the leading events among worldwide Concours d'Élégance. |
29 | Notizie | Modena Cento Ore presents an exciting mix Ferrari at the Modena Cento Ore Classic Marcel Massini Marcel Massini Mauro Bompani again held his Modena Cento Ore Classic meeting, on the 7th to the 10th of May, 2005. As before, this edition was organized as a speed and regularity race for historic sports and racing cars, and the event covered approximately 1000 kms through the cities and countryside of Italy, through Emilia, Toscana, Umbria, Le Marche and Romagna, with special stages at Fiorano, Mugello, Magione and Misano race tracks. |
32 | Notizie | Mille Miglia 2005 Report from on scene Marcel Massini, Keith Bluemel, Henry T. Kistler, Pierre Goossens Hugo Garritsen Historic motor sport has seen a tremendous revival over the last decade, as events such as the Mille Miglia encourage owners of some of the world's most exotic vintage and classic racing machinery to put their cars back into competition. Brescia, Italy, and the historic Mille Miglia were one of the initiators of this revitalization, back in 1977, and this plus the actual races from 1927 to 1957 have made this team unique. |
32 | Notizie | Mangiomo: Mille Miglia Crista Barnes Lorena Sicilia On a brillant Sunday morning in May, my friend and I arrived at the Milan airport with one goal in mind - to reach Brescia as quickly as possible. We had been assigned to attend a lunch at the newly opened Mille Miglia Museum. However, this was not a normal Sunday in Italy, nor was this a normal lunch. This happened to be the day on which the participants of the 2005 Mille Miglia were congregating to celebrate another successful year over a farewell lunch hosted by the Museum. |
38 | Notizie | FXX introduced New program puts you in the testing seat, as a new supercar is announced by Ferrari Ferrari SpA In its latest attempt to involve its customers even more intimately in the driving of its automobiles, Ferrari has announced both a new model, as well as a new client program to accompany it. The car is the FXX, which has been rumoured for some time as the "Super Enzo", and super it is. |
39 | Feature | Art in Motion It returns after a sympathetic restoration - the fluid persona of the 375 MM, s/n 0490 AM Gunter Raub, Courtesy of Motion Products, Marcel Massini Undertaking the job of restoring any high value collector automobile is not a task to be taken lightly. But when it comes to rebuilding one-of-a-kind vintage Ferraris, then extraordinary skill and abundant knowledge of the product at hand, and how it was put together, become a pre-requisite. This is particularly true when dealing with the last 375 Mille Miglia Sport Berlinetta built by Ferrari, in 1955. |
48 | Feature | A Wolf in Sheep's Clothes An all-out GT racing in the guise of a boulevard cruiser Alan Boe Ferret Fotographic, Peter Sachs, Andre Van Bever Things are not always as they seem. Even the most experienced Ferrari eye could be excused from thinking that the car before you is a 400 Superamerica from the early 1960s, a civilized, but speedy, boulevard cruiser. It certainly looks like one. About the only visual clue as to the car's true identity is its 2400 mm wheelbase (400 SAs used a 2420 mm platform), but who can pick that up from the photos on these pages? |
56 | Feature | Midwest Racing Ferrari at the sports car tracks of the central USA - part one of six Jerry McDermott, David N. Seielstad Jerry McDermott, L.L. Cook While the Midwest of the United States is usually considered to be a fairly flat landscape, there are, however, enough rolling hills to make available a variety of major track experiences, with the main cities of Chicago and Milwaukee acting as the hubs, at least for may of the drivers. In the south area was Lawrenceville, an engaging airport circuit; north of Chicago was Milwaukee with its famous championship oval; in between was the diminutive Wilmot Hills course; northwest of Milwaukee was arguably America's most beautiful track, Road America; and northwest of Chicago was Meadowvale with its famous Monza Wall. |
